May 30th was seriously my last post? Ugh, that’s embarrassing. As someone who made a commitment to keeping this blog alive and well and well… interesting… I’ve certainly been failing at that.
So let me do a quick type and dump to share what’s been going on since I last whined about my constant hunger.
Well, I can happily say my nausea began receding over the past two weeks. We also had a bit of a scare late last month when I began spotting on a Friday. We had an ultrasound that coming Monday that confirmed a subchorionic bleed, but our baby was doing quite well, even wiggling about for the ultrasound tech. We came back in two weeks later to discover that the bleed had healed on its own (HOORAY!) and that our little baby bear had grown quite a bit! During our appointment at 11 weeks and 4 days, our little mighty mouse was measuring 12 weeks and 4 days. Kiddo had a serious growth spurt! Oh, and how did I know the baby was going to be bigger? Well, because I have BALLOONED. Seriously. I’m as large at 13.5 weeks as I was at 16 weeks with Evvie.
You’re sweet… maybe I’m not as huge as I will be, but seriously… I feel huge.
But that’s not the exciting stuff! No… the real fun is that at 12 weeks we learned that our newest little baby is a….
Yes, our sweet little angel baby, Evvie, is going to be a big sister to her very own LITTLE SISTER! I have always cherished and celebrated the wonderful relationship I’ve had with my sister. She’s my best friend, my fellow goofball and all-around favorite person to confide in, to vent to and even to bicker with. 😉 Imagining my baby girl having the opportunity to influence her sister, to help her, to teach her, to argue with (yes, sometimes it’s a good thing) makes my heart so happy.

We also celebrated Easter this year with many more egg hunts than usual. With Evvie’s age and growing interest in being outside, we made lots of time to “hide” eggs in our backyard. We celebrated the LLS Gateway’s “Hunt for a Cure” at Queeny Park and Evvie had so much fun scooping up the eggs with her friends Adelyn and Elena. We closed out the holiday with a fun lunch and dinner shared between both of our families. Evvie was one spoiled princess and loved her goodies from the “Easter Bunny” and her grandmas, grandpas and aunts/uncles.
What other shenanigans have we been up to? Well, my Dad and I are now taking orders for custom address/planters. These are real wood that we spend hours together sanding, cutting, assembling and painting/staining for the recipient. Keep your fingers crossed for us that we get some orders!
Oh, and I went full on MOM-mode and chopped my hair, so there’s that… I’m loving the shorter style because my hair routine in the mornings is now half of what it usually is. I’m very much appreciating the longer I get to sleep.
So that’s really it… I haven’t had much time to blog because while it’s been a fun month, there hasn’t been any crazy progress on our house or DIY projects! We should be starting on Evvie’s BIG GIRL room soon, so I’ll post on that in the near future.
