Santa honey, one little thing I really need,
To a platinum mine,
Santa baby, so hurry down the chimney tonight.
Don’t we all, Eartha… don’t we all? One can dream, but I plan to ask Santa for something more in our budget this year.
The holidays are here, folks, and I’ve already been asked by family (and pre-emptively shared) my wishlist. It’s funny how drastically it’s changed from even five years ago — becoming a Mama and first-time homeowner will do that to you.
FIVE YEARS AGO:
- Running Shoes
- Designer Handbag
- Stiletto Heels
- Crock-Pot (a mother and terrible cook’s best friend)
- Home Knick-Knacks (because I have shelves now to stuff)
- Phone Case (because kiddo keeps is in the “throwing phase” of life)
- 5-Minute-Makeup Pallettes (because no one has time to think about makeup application)
If you’re not as Type-A as me and are looking for your own Wishlist inspiration, or if you’re a hubby/boyfriend looking to treat his lady right, here are several items I’m coveting and wouldn’t necessarily treat myself to.
There’s something about organization mixed with sleek design. I am wishing for this to keep my bathroom cleaner and my makeup more accessible during my morning rush.
This lounger is IDEAL for the days when you need to crash with a glass of wine or when you want to curl up with the kiddo and read a book. Plush, soft and portable, just pull it up in front of the fireplace and TRY to stay awake. Yes, please!
The perfect pinky-mauve color, Urban Decay’s Vice line of lipsticks are creamy so they doesn’t dry you out. But, the color isn’t too sheer like many other buttery lipsticks. This is a great lipstick for dry, winter months.
If you see my Instagram pictures, you know that I live in baseball caps over the weekend. My hair is too short to run without a cap plus it’s great for hiding imperfections when you want to go a day sans makeup. This cap is plain but textured, making it nice for pairing with a casual sweater or with workout wear.
Ugh, my skin. Some days it’s literally the bane of my existence. If someone would’ve told me I would still have serious breakouts at 30 years old, I would’ve slapped them two-times-Tuesday. I’ve fallen trick to many of the miracle clearing masks, but most have let me down. This guy, though, has seriously worked magic. My pores are tighter, my skin softer, and you can actually SEE the charcoal mask digging into those imperfect spots. It’s pricey, but it’s worth it!
Evvie is obsessed with Silento’s “Watch Me” dance. Every morning we start our day with a little whip and nae nae moves. But when the ads pop up, like they do EVERY time we start the song, this kid takes my phone and SLAMS it on the ground. My cheapo cases haven’t held up well, so I’m eying this pretty case from Ted Baker. It comes with a soft, insulated interior and serene floral outer shell. Plus the case doesn’t block your charger or headphone jack.
We’ve had the same quilt on our bed since moving down to Houston. It’s time for a refresh. This pretty, farmhouse-style set available at Target is reversible and comes in a nice checkered pattern. Add a nice sweater throw on top for chillier months and you’ll be sleeping snuggly through the thick of the winter!
I’m really a fan of blue… shades of blue especially. My wallet? Teal. My purse? Robin’s Egg blue. My (current) phone case? Bright blue. I love this watch from MVMT for it’s slightly grey, slightly pale blue color.
So what are all of you hoping for? What are you teasing your hubby’s with? Share your “Wishes” in the comments!
