In advance of every sale I sit there waiting for the text to come… the one where my Mom groups my sister and I into a thread and asks, “When can we go?”
My Mom, sister and I do not hide the fact that we are shoe-a-holics. Full-blown. I have two full shoe racks in my closet to C.D.’s one and that doesn’t include the line-up of boots in the front and Tupperware container in the basement. I’m not bragging, because, yes, this is excessive and, yes, I’m purging more this weekend. It’s taken me some time to accept the fact that I no longer have a need for 12 pairs of stilettos when I live in boots, flats and sneakers, but I digress…
We do our best to save our shoe shopping trips for the Macy’s Big Shoe Sale. You know, the one where you get 25% off of one pair, 30% off of two pairs or 40% on three or more pairs of shoes? We typically try to keep it to one pair of shoes each so we get a good deal, but sometimes someone walks out with an extra pair. *Winky face!*
We have plans to hit up our local store tomorrow, so in anticipation, here are the shoes I’m coveting for my laid-back, easy style.
1: Michael Kors Perforated Slip-Ons (Grey or Red) | 2: ALDO Biacci Ankle-Strap Flats (Nude) | 3: Lucky Brand Lisza Peep-Toe Booties (Black) | 4: Circus by Sam Edelman Heidi Booties (Here or Here) | 5: Nine West Starship Two-Piece Flats (Wine) | 6: Nine West Bevy Tassel Two-Piece Heels (Dark Grey) | 7: New Balance 696 Summer Utility Sneakers
Keeping in mind my Fall wardrobe staples, my mission is to seek out more neutral booties and slip-on tennis shoes. I am also liking these Sperry slip-ons for a more simplified look than the funky patent leather on the Michael Kors.
To add some character to my shoe sampling, I’ll try on different textures, such as the velvety flats by Nine West, the ballerina-esque ankle strap of the ALDO flats or the funky tassels on the Nine West heels. The Nine West Tatiana heels in Madison Plaid can also add detail to a simple Fall t-shirt and jeans outfit.
I’ll snap an Instagram story of the chaos that is Macy’s tomorrow when we go — if you’re kiddo is napping or you’re nursing a hangover and you need some entertainment, be sure to follow along at Evvie+Me.
