Pops of Color and a Fresh Perspective

Ahh party-planning. I love every aspect of it up until the cleaning part. You know, the part you always forget about until it’s the week before?

Yes, party-planning-cleaning hit the Longo house this past weekend. That meant errands for necessities (plates, utensils, paper towels, cups, etc.) and general “sprucing up” of the house.

I spent my time touching up the front of the house. I added red throw pillows ($15 for the set from Costco) to the adirondack chairs to make the porch more inviting.

I purchased these simple modern planters from At Home (similar here) to flank the door. I incorporated tall grasses in the back and purple snapdragons in the front to compliment the spring-y wreath we have on the front door.

We hung a chalkboard/magnet board to our office wall to give us a place to keep track of upcoming events (don’t mind the messy desk – we’re still organizing).

And lastly, my SUPER handy Dad came back over to hang our TV in the living room. The space is now so much cleaner, accessible and the endless stream of wires behind the console are neatly hidden.

We enjoyed a beautiful weekend of sunshine and warm weather. I’m praying the weather rolls on through the week and into next weekend so we can enjoy our family and friends’ gathering outside in the backyard!

Mizzy loves her yard so much. She enjoys laying in the grass during the early morning hours while keeping watch of the kids walking to the bus stops.
